Specializing in Trusts and Estates and Banking Law, Dr. Earl A. Cash is Chair of the Higgs & Johnson’s Private Client & Wealth Management practice group and services major trust companies in The Bahamas. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1979, and The Bahamas Bar since 1982. He holds a PhD in English from the University of New Mexico as well as a JD and LL.M in International Law from the University of Miami School of Law. Earl spent the 1990s as a temporary Stipendiary and Circuit Magistrate for Night Court in the Bahamas and served as a member of the Ethics Committee of The Bahamas Bar Association. He is a member of STEP and an occasional delegate at the IBC’s Annual International Trust and Tax Planning Conference. He has also travelled to the United States and England with the Bahamas Financial Services Board to assist in the promotion of The Bahamas as a choice international jurisdiction.

Stephen Melvin is Chair of Higgs & Johnson’s Real Estate & Development practice group and specializes in foreign direct investment and the sale and acquisition of hotels, marinas, and resort developments (mixed-use projects). In this niche, Stephen’s clients are international Bahamian property developers, and he has been central to some of the most exciting and largest new projects of this kind presently under construction in The Bahamas. His experience includes involvement in all aspects of the master planning of cruise ports as well as all legal services related to Bahamas Government regulations and applications, including all aspects related to the successful negotiation of heads of agreements and obtaining Hotels Encouragement Act concessions. Stephen has provided corporate and trust advice on asset structuring through IBCs, PTCs and family Trusts. He has also been involved in numerous matters related to the restructuring of assets for estate planning and tax purposes.

Dr Neil McArthur is one of the principal investors. Neil is a graduate of Essex University in the UK with a degree in Telecommunications and Computer Science. He is a Chartered Engineer and, in 1992, was awarded an M.B.E for his services to engineering. He is a co-founder of TalkTalk, one of the major UK telecommunications companies where he continues as a senior executive. As a successful entrepreneur, Neil has funded and successfully developed a range of technology businesses including businesses in the fields of robotics and computer systems. He is also the owner and chairman of a UK-based property development business - North Cheshire Developments Limited. Neil is a philanthropist, amongst his philanthropic activities, he founded and is a trustee of The Hamilton Davies Trust whose aim is to work in partnership with other stakeholders in developing local areas in order to create a great place to live, work and enjoy.
